Meal Plans

Not only am I trying to save money by not eating out as frequently, but I am also trying to go grocery shopping more frequently, purchasing less food all at once. Hopefully being mindful about how much I am spending and how much food I am purchasing, I’ll be less likely to waste.

Since I am usually just cooking for me, I don’t mind eating the same thing a couple days in a row if it means that I’m not throwing food away.

Tomorrow and Tuesday it’s heavy on sautéed vegetables, tilapia, and as far as breakfast goes, 1/2 bagel with peanut butter or scrambled eggs with chicken sausage.

Wednesday-Friday I’m making cilantro turkey burgers for dinner (veggies on the side) and veggie sandwiches (recipe stolen from Einstein Bros.) for lunches. Breakfast = apples and eggs (until I run out) and maybe the remainder of Cheerios.

When payday comes around, I’m going to buy small Ziplock containers to portion out food so lunches are easier to prepare and I don’t end up packing too much food.

Isn’t the new year fun? Setting all of these goals and getting all motivated only to fall flat a couple weeks in? Such is life, though. Things happen and days are not as predictable as we’d like.

I should set up reminders in my phone to double-check my progress every couple weeks.
