It took me a long time to realize that when I was taking pictures of signs and words and fonts, it wasn’t so much the typography that I loved (although I DO love it). It was more the lines and geometry and patterns that the words and letters and spaces between made. 

Once I realized this, it changed the way I took pictures. 

Now I understand the importance of shape and use it frequently — but I also know to look out for the ways that shadows and light and nature do the same things. 

I love this art. I’m ready to do it every day for the rest of my life.
